Safe & Secure Arrival and Pickup

Knowing Who Is Coming and Going Matters
 

Your child's safety begins the moment they arrive at Angel's Place.

We maintain procedures designed to help ensure that children are released only to authorized individuals.

Parents and guardians are responsible for keeping authorized pickup information current and notifying the center when someone new will be picking up their child.

If we do not have the appropriate authorization, we will take the necessary steps to protect your child.

Active Supervision

We Know Where Our Children Are
 

Young children need attentive supervision throughout the day.

Our teachers actively supervise children during classroom activities, meals, transitions, outdoor play, rest periods, and other daily routines.

Teachers position themselves so they can observe and respond to children's needs while also encouraging children to safely explore their environment.

We pay attention to more than where children are. We pay attention to how they are feeling, what they are doing, and what they may need.

Health & Wellness

Keeping Children Healthy Is a Team Effort
 

We work together with families to help maintain a healthy environment for all children.

Our health practices include appropriate:

  • Handwashing and hygiene

  • Cleaning and sanitizing

  • Diapering procedures

  • Food and mealtime practices

  • Illness monitoring

  • Health documentation

  • Communication with parents

 

If a child becomes ill while in our care, we follow our health and illness policies and communicate with the child's family as appropriate.

Parents deserve to know that the adults caring for their children take their responsibilities seriously.

Our hiring and staff procedures are designed to meet applicable Virginia childcare requirements, including required background checks, health documentation, training, and qualifications.

We also recognize that quality childcare requires ongoing learning.

We encourage our staff to continue developing their knowledge and skills so they can better support the children in their care.

CPR & First Aid

Our staff receive required health and safety training appropriate to their roles, including CPR and First Aid training as required.

We believe being prepared is an essential part of caring for young children.

Our teachers are trained to recognize situations that may require immediate attention and to respond appropriately while following established procedures.

While we hope emergencies never happen, preparation is an important part of responsible childcare.

Our staff are prepared to respond to situations such as:

  • Severe weather

  • Building emergencies

  • Medical emergencies

  • Evacuation situations

  • Other circumstances that may affect the safety of children and staff


Emergency procedures are maintained for the center, and staff are expected to follow established procedures and licensing requirements.

Parents will be notified according to our policies and the circumstances of the emergency.

Communication With Parents

We encourage parents to keep us informed about changes that may affect their child's care, including:

  • Changes in health

  • Allergies

  • Feeding changes

  • Sleep routines

  • Authorized pickup information

  • Important family updates

  • Developmental changes

  • Anything else that may help us better care for their child
     

Likewise, we believe parents should be informed about important events involving their child while they are in our care. You know your child best, We value your partnership.
